Our New Property!

Our New Property

For the past four years, we have lived in a large neighborhood. We had always known that buying land was in our future, but we didn’t know it would be so soon! Here’s a little back story for you to catch you up.

Ten years ago (exactly this year) we got married at a horse farm. I knew I didn’t want a conventional wedding venue so I set out on a mission to find something different. I didn’t realize at the time, that this “something different” was going to be the most breath taking, mesmerizing sight I had ever seen in my life!

And to top it off, it was within five minutes of where we lived at the time. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I remember when we went to go see it for the first time. It was hard to believe that something so beautiful existed just down a little road. I had driven by in the past but only saw the stables. I never knew what was behind them.

There was an old, raw barn that stored hay and horses were walking around swishing their tails. You could stand in one spot and see at least 2-3 deer at a time somewhere on the property. It had ponds on it and the most beautiful trees planted around it. When you were standing there, it felt as though you were in a different land or country. It was so peaceful and serene all wrapped up into one. I knew right then, I wanted to get married there. Since then, this place has always held a piece of my heart.

Fast forward to October/November of 2020. When we first came to the conclusion the neighborhood life wasn’t for us and started looking for a piece of property we could call ours, this property wasn’t on the radar. Or should I say, we didn’t know it could be on the radar. We looked and looked for the perfect piece of land but nothing worked for us.

My husband ended up getting a phone call from a mutual friend, who told us about fifteen acres of this property was going to be for sale. As soon as we saw each other, we knew it would work out. Exactly ten years after we got married there, we were going to get the chance to build our forever home at the same place. Talk about full circle!

Follow us in our journey as we close on the property, and start our lives here. We’re going to build our home, my parents are also going to build with us as well as my brother. We want a workshop, a greenhouse and a garden and so much more! We also plan on starting a farm with Silkies, a mini cow and maybe some goats. A dream like this is truly priceless.
